Danielle (she/her) is a strategist first and digital nerd second. She believes technical expertise is only part of the equation, because it takes innovative ideas and careful intentionality to break through a chaotic digital landscape and create real, positive change. She utilizes years of experience crafting mission-driven social media, multimedia and marketing to empower clients in their crucial work.
Before joining Burness, Danielle led digital strategy and online programming at the Student Press Law Center, where she built up the organization’s digital infrastructure and revamped its communications strategies. She also coordinated Student Press Freedom Day, a national day of action and awareness campaign educating hundreds of student journalists about their rights and mobilizing them to advocate for anti-censorship laws and policies. Before that, she worked on the social media desk at the digital news outlet Newsy and served as a journalist in several local newsrooms.
Outside of work, Danielle is an avid reader who loves high fantasy tomes the size of a brick, making hyper-specific playlists for her friends, and taking care of her beloved (absurdly named) plants.
