Florence is an associate based in Lisbon, Portugal, who serves Burness’ global practice on a variety of projects relating to biodiversity, oceans, forestry, land rights and other environmental issues. In her role, she supports the development of thoughtful communication strategies, engages in media research and analysis, handles content writing, and coordinates global media initiatives that reach and engage reporters in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific.

Florence is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh with a degree in Portuguese and Spanish. During her studies, she was selected for the Erasmus exchange program to study at the University of Coimbra, Portugal, where she developed a keen interest in Latin American anthropology and Portuguese history. She also spent five months establishing youth education programs in Northern Peru, which she actively supports to this day.

Outside of work, Florence is a self-professed lover of travel, food, surf and salsa. Her curiosity about other cultures particularly shows through any new recipe she finds.
