Hannah brings experience in media strategy, writing, editing and magazine publication, as well as social media content creation and photography/videography to social change efforts.
At Burness, Hannah manages and supports projects related to improving children’s health and well-being, with a focus on nutrition security, public health, education, racial equity, childcare and caregiving. She has collaborated with organizations including Afterschool Alliance, Michigan Afterschool Partnership, Trust for America's Health, W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Voices for Healthy Kids, the National Collaborative on Infants and Toddlers and more.
Prior to Burness, Hannah directed the communications team at National Cathedral School in Washington, D.C., led media relations for the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health, and helped coordinate satellite and radio media tours at Subject Matter.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in mass communications, and public policy and community service from Emory & Henry University in southwest Virginia. Hannah lives in Falls Church, Virginia, with her husband, dog and cat. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, traveling, making pottery and baking.
