Lynda joined Burness in July 2020 as a communications
specialist for the Nairobi office. She supports a variety of projects across
the continent and globally, ranging from the introduction of new health
innovations, to agriculture and food security, through to supporting sexual and
reproductive health and rights.
Prior to joining Burness, Lynda was a communications officer
at the East African Centre for Human Rights and before that was a communications
specialist at Kent State University, where she graduated with a Master of Arts
in communication studies. She also interned at Justice Defenders, formerly known
as the African Prisons Project, where she developed mass media strategy around the
organization’s goals and needs.
Lynda is fluent in Swahili and after a hiatus of many years
hopes to get back to learning and practicing Spanish. She lives to travel and
to dance salsa.
