As a senior associate at Burness, Mona provides communications counsel and support to a range of organizations focused on promoting health and social equity. She brings to the organization her expertise in strategic planning, media relations, project management, storytelling and message development to advance social change.

Prior to joining Burness, Mona worked at D.C.-based public affairs firms, where she advised national and international clients on communications strategy, including for nonprofits, Fortune 500 companies, and for high-profile litigation cases. She also previously supported Arab-American outreach and strategy efforts for the Joe Biden presidential campaign in 2020.

Mona has a bachelor’s degree in communications and media from The American University in Cairo, and a master’s degree in international affairs from The George Washington University. In her free time, she enjoys travelling, baking, and volunteering with organizations that assist immigrant and refugee communities.
