Todd joined the Burness creative team in March 2019 as senior designer. Todd is a multifaceted designer with a background in print and digital media, product design, packaging design and illustration. Todd works on diverse projects for a wide range of Burness clients.

Todd holds a BFA in industrial design from The University of Kansas. As a product and packaging designer, he created and developed children’s products including furniture and toys for consumer product companies. A highlight of his product design career was his work for Hallmark producing licensed products for Disney/Pixar and Star Wars. His designs are still available at stores across the country.

Todd holds an MFA in graphic design from Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA). At VCFA, his research interests were in queer aesthetics and developing a framework for understanding and decoding queer design. His three-book thesis, “Gay and Tired,” was honored by the VCFA faculty with a showing at the AIGA Fresh Grad in New York in 2018. Prior to coming to Burness, Todd was a graphic artist for one of the top regional theaters in the United States, where he helped provide design support, art direction and branding for all departments.

In his free time, Todd enjoys exploring new restaurants and museums with his husband, Jeremy, and watching “Sailor Moon” with his puppy, Rocket. Also, Todd continues to work as an artist creating works that explore the intersection of illustration and queer politics.
