Hang joined Burness as a communications coordinator in April 2019. She provides communications support through creating media lists, conducting media outreach, assisting with events, providing social media support, researching health and nonprofit topics, and contributing to communications plans. She primarily works with the Commonwealth Fund, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and their grantees, the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation, CityHealth, the Afterschool Alliance, the Leiber Institute for Brain Development, and the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research.
Hang graduated from Old Dominion University in December 2018 with a B.S. in communication studies and a minor in psychology. During her time as a student, she served as president of ODU’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America and earned two awards from the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. She also interned at The Meridian Group, a public relations firm based in Virginia Beach, where she worked on projects for the Wounded Warrior Project, STIHL, the Chrysler Museum, and locally- owned businesses.
As a first-generation Vietnamese-American, she is a life-long advocate for Asian-American representation in American media and culture. In her spare time, you can find her grocery shopping, cooking, weightlifting, or watching vlogs on YouTube.
